Eldest
brother of George (q.v.) and
Benjamin (q.v.),
Nathan was son of Benjamin Nathan (d 1902) and Eliza née Reece; the
family were well-known in the home furnishing industry. With George, he was
associated with “Paterson’s Pty Ltd” and “Richmond Furnishing Company” being
chairman of directors at the time of his death from heart failure on 30 July
1925 aged 64 years. The Age obituary described Simeon as
“greatly interested in bowling matters…many years president of the Victoria
Bowling Association” through his association with the Richmond Union and
Carlton Bowling Clubs. An honorary justice of the peace for over 30
years, he was survived by his wife Emma ( d 1933) and three daughters and
son. The Nathans resided at Amaroo - Albany Road, Toorak. |
